Manitowoc County Genealogical Society Meeting

Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 6:00 pm, Balkansky Room, Manitowoc Public Library, 707 Quay St., Manitowoc, WI

Program:   Federal Government Publications for Genealogical Research, with Anne Kasuboski, MLIS.

The National Archives has a wealth of information for the genealogist, but another not so well known source of information are Federal Depository Libraries. Federal Depository Libraries store information from the U.S. Government Printing Office; the largest publisher in the world.  Let’s find out where these libraries are located, and what they offer to the family history researcher.  Anne Kasuboski, MLIS, retired Distance Education & Reference Librarian, UW-Green Bay, of Fox River Heritage Research, whose research specialty is government publications, will present a very informative program on Federal Government Publications for Genealogical Research.  The public is welcome.

(We do cancel our meetings due to inclement weather.  Please check this website for possible cancellations.)

Also Genealogy Help from 3pm-5pm on Tuesdays, in local history area of Manitowoc Public Library.

“Genetically Speaking: a DNA Workshop” with Mary Eberle was wonderful!

If you wanted to get up to speed on DNA and Genealogy this workshop was the place to be on Saturday!

Mary Eberle’s presentations were excellent.   I am so grateful that we (Manitowoc County Genealogical Society) and the Manitowoc Public Library were able to cosponsor this event for our community!   I hope everyone that attended had a great experience and learned a lot.   I know I did.   If you were unable to attend this event, check out www.DNAHunters.com   Mary’s website provides many valuable tips, resources & links.
