Program:  When an Elder Dies, a Library Burns to the Ground.  Now’s the Time to Write your Stories! with Laurie Shawhan.  Laurie has worked many years on her family history, gathering and compiling information, and writing family stories along the way.  She hopes everyone realizes how important it is to pass these stories on, and will help us get started in that process.  Additionally, we will have some MCGS members share their stories.  We invite you to bring your stories to share with us, time permitting.

Program: Using Your Library Card for Genealogy, with Katie Stilp, a local History librarian with the Appleton Public Library. Katie will be sharing some of her knowledge of what resources you can find at a library, with an emphasis on online databases and tips for using them. Hope to see you there! The public is welcome. Genealogy Help has returned at Manitowoc Public Library on Tuesdays from 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. in the Local History Area (near the microfilm readers). A MCGS Volunteer will be there to help you with your genealogy questions.
